Happy Perianesthesia Nurse Awareness Week (PANAW) to our GAPAN members!
PANAW is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the essential work of the entire perianesthesia team, including PST, PSA, preop, PACU, Phase II, and ERU professionals. Perianesthesia care is complex, fast-paced, and high-stakes, and it relies on the expertise, collaboration, and professionalism of every role across the continuum of care.
From the foundational work completed in PST/PSA and Preop that prepares patients for safe procedures, to the critical monitoring, recovery, and discharge care provided in PACU/Phase I, Phase II,and ERU, perianesthesia professionals support patients during some of the most vulnerable moments of their healthcare experience. Your clinical judgment, attention to detail, adaptability, and commitment to excellence directly impact patient safety and outcomes every day.
As we celebrate PANAW, we also encourage continued engagement within our professional community. The upcoming GAPAN State Conference will provide opportunities for education, collaboration, and connection with perianesthesia colleagues from across Georgia.
On behalf of the GAPAN Board, thank you for your dedication to perianesthesia practice and for the vital role you play in advancing patient care. This week, and always, we celebrate you.
